Chinese Style Garlic Chicken
A super nutritious Chinese garlic chicken dish that perfect for a Saturday night when you have a craving for a Chinese takeaway but want to be healthy.
Chinese Style Garlic Chicken

Serves- 2 portions
Ingredients
2 table spoons of corn flour.
Salt and pepper.
4 boneless chicken thighs cut into chunks
olive oil or groundnut oil
4 cloves of garlic peeled and sliced.
3 spring onions cut into battons.
2 medium carrots, peeled and cut into match sticks.
4 table spoons of light soya sauce.
2 teaspoons of sesame oil.
2 tablespoons of rice wine vinegar.
1-2 tablespoons of soya sauce
200 grams of preferred green veg (example broccoli, or green beans).
Method
Par boil veg for 3 mins, drain, and put in cold water.
Put cornflour into bowl and season with salt and pepper. Add chicken, dust in flour, shake off any excess flour.
Heat oil in wok. When its hot, add chicken and cook until crisp on the outside, approximately 3-4 mins. Set aside on plate with kitchen towel to drain oil. Clean wok.
Add a dash of oil to the wok. Add the garlic and spring to fry over a high heat for 1-2 minutes until aromatic. Add soya sauce, rice wine vinegar, a dash of pepper and heat through for a couple of mins.
Drain veg and add to wok along with meat and gently mix into the sauce. Remove from heat and empty carefully into storage container to be cooled in cold iced water in sink before refrigerating.
